Boulevard West Coffee Shop in Clayton

I love Clayton, it’s my home. But I do sometimes miss the unique and trendy things you find in larger cities like Raleigh and Cary. It’s nice to find something that gives you that trendsetting vibe, yet laid-back feeling of experiencing a piece of the city’s urbanity. This is why I’m so thankful that nestled right in downtown Clayton, is a cool little coffee shop called Boulevard West.

Boulevard West is so much more than a coffee shop. It has great coffee, of course, but the food, selection, and ambiance make it a notable experience. Let’s start with the interior - the wood and mixture of light and dark tones give you laid-back, chill vibes while the industrial lights and undercurrent give you the excitement of something unique in our small town of Clayton.

I love the way they set the mood here - when you walk in, you instantly know that this is no Starbucks. Looking around you take in the friend-filled gatherings, people taking in a good book while sipping their beverage, dogs and kids playing in the outdoor area, and laptops galore as people find unique places to “work from home.” There’s even the typical line of people who are in a rush to grab a great cup of coffee on their way to the hustle and bustle of life.

Boulevard West’s coffee, and their extensive drink selection, are amazing. They even specialize in creative Latte art. It’s pretty to look at and brings a smile to your face before you take that first flavorful sip. Not a big coffee person? No worries - they have so many other options to satisfy every palate.

If you haven’t found a reason by now to go to Boulevard West, then perhaps I’ll entice you by telling you about their amazing food! They have unique bites that are not always typical of a coffee shop. I’m talking about peanut butter and banana toast drizzled with honey. Need a healthier option? Try it with their almond butter and gluten-free toast. They also feature unparagoned dishes like their Apple Bottom Waffle that is covered in apple butter and topped with sausage, egg, and cheese. I also love their berry parfait with granola. Yum!

All this to say that while Clayton is growing and booming, I hope that the growth includes more places like Boulevard West. I love the drinks; I love the food; I love the vibe. Do yourself a favor and head to Boulevard West coffee shop and show them a Little Local Love.
