Buc-ee’s in Florence, SC

If you’ve driven through Texas, you may have seen some funny billboards advertising a convenience store / gas station, called Buc-ee’s. If you know any Texans, you’ll know that Buc-ee’s is a cherished destination for all who call Texas home. With growing popularity comes growing locations - even heading all the way out to Florence, South Carolina.

Everything is bigger in Texas and Buc-ee’s sets out to prove it. It’s not just a gas station, it’s not just a convenience store, it is a must-visit shop stocked full of everything you may need or want on a road trip.

Their funny billboards beckon you to head their way. Signs like “Fancy like Buc-ee’s, on a Roadtrip” or “Let us Plan Your Next Potty” or “Our Aim is to have Clean Bathrooms. Your Aim will Help” start to pique your curiosity and convince you that Buc-ee’s has to be your next stop.

Buc-ee’s has a drink wall with every fountain soda you could want. They have a beef-jerky wall with a wide variety of options. They have a candy wall that would impress Willy Wonka and they even have a large selection of Icee flavors. They boast the cleanest bathrooms around which is great news for road-trippers.

Buc-ee’s is always open and always well-stocked. Their Beaver mascot is adorable and you’ll want to buy a Buc-ee’s branded shirt or souvenir when you go visit. Make sure you save room for some Beaver Nuggets - delicious. When you’re on your next road trip south, make sure you stop by Buc-ee’s and show them a little local love

About Buc-ee’s

Written by Sarah George with Jami Amidon & Co.

A little about me - I am the Director of Operations for Jami Amidon & Co. I love traveling and exploring new places. I’ve lived in many different states and even other countries. In each place I’ve lived or visited, I was on the hunt for the unique local joints - the local shops and flavors that the locals know and love. It doesn’t matter if it was Texas, North Carolina, or Japan - I wanted to experience the best things the local businesses had to offer.

I currently live in and love Texas, but I’ll be moving to Arizona next month (unless Jami has it her way and convinces me that North Carolina is my next home - haha!). I’ve had the privilege of living in North Carolina for a short time and I go back periodically for work trips and to visit my work family. I’ve come to love all that NC has to offer and can’t wait to share my take of the local shops and cuisine. Jami and I will be tag-teaming these articles showcasing the best of the region. We both love everything local and we hope you find your new favorite local hot spot.
