A Little Local Love Story…

My daughter knows my love language, Quality Time and Gifts. Thankfully, Quality Time is her love language as well. Spending time with the ones she loves is her favorite - what a blessing for me! This Christmas I was given a whole day to go heart hunting! We attended Vintage Market Days a couple of years back and saw these amazing hearts made from old tin roofs. I fell in love with them but didn’t buy one and have regretted it ever since. I have been looking for the artist since that trip without luck. My daughter found him!

We stopped for breakfast at Fresh Start then headed out west 2 hours to Thomasville, NC where we met Mr. Steve Lynam, the heart maker and owner of ChartReuse Barn. Notice how many creative ways you can read that name! Hart, art reuse. Such a clever guy!

Mr. Lynam and his wife, who passed away a couple of years ago, spent his pre-barn show days as a marriage and family counselor. He has a sitting chapel at the back of the property and the moment you enter, you can tell his calling is to share the experience of love and peace in one’s heart. You have to go there to really understand what I am trying to convey.

Thumbs up for a nice day trip. I hope they will coordinate the calendar with the French Farmer’s Wife so we can go to both barn shows on the same day! Every one of them could have a food truck. I can see it now, 4 or 5 barn shows at once - here I go again - let’s start another business because real estate doesn’t keep my calendar full (you’ve got to know I am 100% joking!)

Anyway when you go, say “Hi” to Mr. Lynam for me. The opportunity to have a visit with him is worth the trip!
